IN SHORT
A doctor marketplace lists you beside other doctors on a platform patients search; it can bring new patients and carries public reviews, but it keeps the patient relationship and sets the terms. Your own booking page on your clinic’s name keeps the relationship, the fee and the record with you, but does not create demand by itself. Most clinics do best with both: a listing and a Google Business Profile for first visits, and their own page, booked and paid directly, for every visit after that.
- A marketplace’s strength is discovery; its cost is fees, competing doctors beside you and a patient who belongs to the platform.
- Your own page’s strength is ownership: no commission, your rules for walk-ins and follow-ups, your patient records, your name on every SMS.
- Put your booking link on Google, on the prescription and in the confirmation SMS, so the follow-up is booked with you.
- Treatlly gives every clinic its own booking page and optional app under the clinic’s name, and never lists its doctors beside anyone else’s.
Two different jobs
A doctor marketplace is a platform patients search when they do not yet have a doctor: they type a speciality and a locality, read the ratings and book whoever looks right. Practo, Apollo 24|7 and Lybrate are the ones Indian patients know. Your own booking page is the opposite: a page on your clinic’s name and domain, used by patients who have already chosen you — the follow-up, the family member, the neighbour who was sent by a patient you treated.
The two are not rivals for the same visit. One creates demand; the other serves it. The mistake clinics make is to let the marketplace serve the demand too, so that every visit — including the twentieth from a loyal patient — runs through someone else’s page, on someone else’s terms, into someone else’s record.
What a marketplace listing gives you, and what it keeps
What it gives
- Discovery. Patients who have never heard of you: new to the city, new to the problem, searching a speciality rather than a name.
- Reviews. A public rating patients can compare, which a clinic’s own page cannot credibly offer on its own.
- A ready profile. Timings, fees and a booking button without building anything.
What it keeps
- The patient relationship. The account, the history and the reminders live with the platform. The next time that patient searches, they see every doctor near you, not only you.
- The terms. Listing fees, promoted placement, subscription tiers and payment commissions are set by the platform and can change. Read the current terms before you depend on them.
- Your competitors, beside you. The page that shows your name shows theirs too, and the platform decides the order.
What your own booking page gives you, and what it cannot do
What it gives
- No commission. The consultation fee is paid to you, and a flat subscription costs the same whether you see 20 patients or 200.
- Your rules. Seats kept for walk-ins in every sitting, your follow-up window and fee, your cancellation terms, your same-day cut-off.
- Your record. Earlier visits, uploaded reports and every prescription stay with the clinic, under the DPDP Act duties that are yours anyway.
- Your name on every message. The confirmation SMS, the receipt and the prescription carry the clinic, not a platform.
What it cannot do
Create demand by itself. Nobody searches the website of a clinic they have not heard of. A booking page is only as busy as the places that link to it: your Google Business Profile, your prescriptions, your SMS, your signboard, and yes, your marketplace profile.
How to use both without giving your patients away
- Keep the listing for first visits. A marketplace profile with accurate timings and fees is cheap discovery. Treat it as advertising, and judge it as advertising: what does a new patient cost you there?
- Make your own page the home for every visit after the first. Put your booking link on your Google Business Profile, on the prescription, in the confirmation SMS and on the clinic’s WhatsApp status. The follow-up is booked with you.
- Say it at the counter. “Next time, book on our page — your seat is held and the fee is the same.” Patients follow the easier route; make yours the easier one.
- Count it after three months. Bookings that came direct versus through the marketplace, new versus repeat. Many clinics find the marketplace share falls to a handful of first visits a month while their own page carries the practice.
Your own page on Treatlly
Every Treatlly clinic gets a booking page under its own name — on a treatlly.app address from day one, or your own domain on eligible plans — and, if you want it, a patient app under the clinic’s name on the App Store and Google Play. Patients confirm their mobile number with an SMS code, choose the doctor and the sitting, and pay by UPI, card or net banking; the fee settles to the clinic’s bank and Treatlly takes 0% of it. Treatlly never lists your doctors beside anyone else’s and never markets your patients to anyone.
Across the clinics running on Treatlly, 98% of paid completed visits since May 2026 started with an online booking on the clinic’s own page or app, counted from their booking records on 17 October 2026. See the clinic stories, how the booking works and the patient app.
Frequently asked questions
Should I delete my marketplace listing?+
Usually not. Keep it for the patients who do not know you yet, keep its timings and fees accurate, and move every later booking to your own page. Judge the listing by what a new patient costs you there, and drop it only if that number stops making sense.
Will patients trust a clinic’s own booking page?+
They already trust the clinic; the page only has to work. An SMS code to sign in, UPI to pay, an instant confirmation and a receipt on the clinic’s letterhead are what patients use everywhere else. The name on the page is the name they chose.
Can my own page have reviews?+
Use your Google Business Profile for reviews and link it from the page. Google reviews are what patients read when they search a doctor’s name, and they belong to the clinic, not to a platform.
What does a booking page cost on Treatlly?+
It is included in every plan, from ₹2,999 a month including GST, with a 14-day free trial. Your own domain is available on the Growth plan and above; a patient app under your clinic’s name is a ₹2,499/month add-on. There is no charge per booking and no commission on the fee.
